SCM’s Certificate of Musharika is a profit & loss-sharing instrument whereby investors have an opportunity to earn low-risk income. It offers
the most secure and rewarding return to its investors given SCM’s AA+ Rating assigned by Pakistan Credit Rating Agency Limited (PACRA).
This is the highest credit rating assigned to any Modaraba company in Pakistan, which indicates low expectation of credit risk and very
strong capacity for timely payment of financial commitments.

Launched in the year 2000, this Shariah compliant Deposit Scheme has been formulated under the guidelines issued by SECP Religious
Board formed under the Modaraba Ordinance. SCM’s Certificate of Musharika (COMs) is an Islamic investment avenue available to
individuals, corporates, provident funds & gratuity funds. SCM has tailor-made this product keeping in consideration Islamic principles and
its valued customers’ convenience and are available at branches of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) spread all over Pakistan.

Certificates of Musharika (COM)

SCM’s COM Scheme has been formulated under the parameters laid down for this purpose by the Securities and Exchange Commission of
Pakistan in its "Guidelines for Issue of Certificates of Musharika for Modarabas."

SCM’s COMs combines the unique features of purity, maturity of income, security accompanying with a rewarding ROI.

i. Flexible maturities and profit payments
COMs offer flexibility of profit payments with various maturities upto 5 years as depicted in tabular form below. Certificates of Musharika
are encashable at any point during the tenure of investment.

ii. Simple & hassle-free Point of purchase
For investing in SCM’s COMs you can simply obtain an Application Form by calling, visiting or writing to any branch of Standard Chartered
Modaraba (SCM) or Standard Chartered Bank (Pakistan) Limited (SCBPL) nationwide.

Procedure

i. Two steps to buy COM
You can buy COM only for Rs. 100,000, without the hassle of opening bank account. You can make your payments through any of the four
modes namely; cross Cheque, pay order, bank draft or bank transfer.

ii. You need to;
       I. Fill the form ensuring that all the requirements mentioned therein are completed
       II. Submit at any branch of SCM or SCBPL.

General terms & conditions
i. The minimum investment is of Rs. 100,000
ii. The investment is in PKR
iii. Profits are payable as per agreed terms
iv. Premature encashment is permitted at any time, which may be subject to early encashment adjustments
v. The Certificates are transferable and negotiable
vi. The Certificate is not guaranteed by the Government of Pakistan or Standard Chartered Group
vii. The Profit payment is subject to deduction of withholding tax where ever applicable
viii. Exemption from Zakat on submission of Zakat declaration form (CZ- 50)
ix. The Certificate of Musharakah (COM) of the SCM are subject to various risks including credit risk and liquidity risk. The prospective investors/ customers are advised to conduct their own due diligence prior to investing in Certificate of Musharakah of the SCM.
